Day trip to Shigaraki, Shiga prefecture
Ok so Shigaraki is famous for it's ceramic and pottery-ware, so Hide and I spent about 3 hours driving up towards Shiga to see it and have a go ...first off, you have to have a giggle at these Racoon Dogs (tanuki); famous in the area! Believe it or not, they are actually based on the real animal, although we didn't see any ;-)

Sumiyoshi Shrine, New Year 2007
Night time at Sumiyoshi shrine, the most famous New Year Shrine in Osaka, Japan. Each year millions of people travel to this shrine to pay their respects, pray, make a wish and collect their fortune.
Traditionally, you throw money at the shrine, anything from 1 yen to 1000 yen....
Me..... after a warming cup of sake infused milk with giner, yummmmmmmmm!
